Today by use of HIE’s and EHR’s clinical users have greater access to a patients record regardless of where the care is provided. But in today’s busy healthcare environment clinicians need more than just access, they need specific information delivered to them. Clinicians have different needs. Tell me when an A1c result is greater than 10. Tell me when my patient is discharged. Tell me when a referral is completed.

Orion Health Notifications minimizes information overload. It provides control to the physicians, allowing them to tell the HIE/EHR what information they want to be told about as soon as it happens. Thus eliminating the need for Clinicians wasting time searching disparate systems to identify the right information when they should be devoting this time treating the patient.

Notifications is a web-based software product designed to enable healthcare organizations to offer 'Push Notifications' of clinical events as well as a "view only" access to the patients’ health record if the clinician has an established provider relationship with but are not employed by the organization. Push Notifications enables real time notifications to clinicians that new information is available on the patient thus providing valuable information about requirements for the ongoing care and treatment of their patients.

Notifications can also be integrated into an organizations existing software including EMR, relationship store, and or patient and provider indexes, as well as an iPhone and via email. Clinicians are able to specify what patient related events are important to them, so the Clinical Portal sends only relevant notifications. Clinicians can also have their Notifications and Event Details sent to their own Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system if it has been integrated with the Clinical Portal. The event details can be sent automatically to the EMR, or can be chosen to be downloaded manually by the clinician.
