| Orion Health expands software product development to Christchurch |

AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND - December 13, 2010 – New Zealand’s leading healthcare software company, Orion Health, is expanding its software product development into Christchurch, creating up to 30 more jobs in the city. Already its Auckland headquarters are running to capacity, with 120 people in the Product Development Group, and a further three in Canberra, Australia. Christchurch’s long history of good software development and tech-savvy engineers is a big drawcard, according to Orion Health CEO Ian McCrae. “We’ll start with 10 people initially but we will need up to 30 very quickly,” he said. “Orion Health is in a fast-growing market and we are recognised as world leaders. That means we’re not going to take our foot off the throttle as we continue to keep developing the world’s most innovative healthcare software.” Mr Jeff Wilkinson has been appointed as Development Unit Manager, and the unit is expected to become fully operational in late January. Orion Health designs and implements health data integration systems that co-ordinate and manage information about a patient’s healthcare and medical records. The privately owned company has just reported an 80% increase on revenue for the first half of the 2010-11 fiscal year over the same period last year. Mr McCrae said it had been one of the strongest starts to the year for the company, which has been providing innovative electronic health record and health information exchange technology to the healthcare industry since 1993. It has also seen staff numbers grow by 49% over the past 12 month, and plans approximately another 20% growth in the coming months as Orion Health opens new offices in Australia, Singapore, Japan, France and Canada as well as its new Christchurch operations. Mr McCrae said Orion Health currently holds the largest number of international Health Information Exchange and Electronic Health Record sites with 22 projects in 12 countries, with a strong leadership position in the US, Europe, the Middle East and Singapore. “We’re in a great place, with constant innovation to keep software developers on their toes, but because we have such a global reach, we also offer good career potential here and internationally,” he said.
