Orion Health - North America
Santa Monica, CA, USA
Santa Monica is a coastal city in western
Los Angeles County, California, USA. It borders Santa Monica
Bay (part of the Pacific Ocean) on the west, Pacific Palisades
and Brentwood on the north, West Los Angeles and Mar Vista
on the east, and Venice on the south.
Because of its agreeable weather, Santa
Monica had become a famed resort town by the early 20th
century. Home to famous restaurants, bars and its gorgeous
beach, Santa Monica is one of Los Angeles County's most
desirable spots.
Palisades Park stretches out on the crumbling
bluffs overlooking the Pacific and is a favorite walking,
running and skating area, which runs along and overlooks
the ocean. Orion Health's new North American headquarters
looks out over the Palisades Park and the Pacific Ocean.
Also convenient to the office is the famous
Third Street Promenade, a major outdoor pedestrian oriented
shopping district that stretches for four blocks between
Wilshire Blvd. and Colorado Blvd full of shopping, nightlife
and restaurants.
The city is well connected to the rest
of Los Angeles, and is an easy commute to Los Angeles International
Airport.
Santa Monica is known for having a large
population of British and Irish (and also Kiwi!) expatriates,
which accounts for the numerous pubs in the city and the
presence of the Santa Monica Rugby Club.

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Edmonton, the capital city of Alberta with a population
of 1 million, really has 4 seasons.
Edmonton's skyline includes the famous MacDonald Hotel surrounded
by the modern skyscrapers. Edmonton also has the provincial
legislature - only 2 blocks from the office
Orion Health has a beautiful open office
with views across Edmonton right in the middle of down town.
Edmonton has many pubs, clubs and restaurants.
Edmonton is also home to the largest mall in the world.
West Edmonton Mall, with a total size of approximately 48 city blocks
over 2 levels, including a water park, amusement park, ice
skating rink, multiple multiplexes, mini golf and more (www.westedmall.com)
will keep you occupied for hours - if not days.
Edmonton is known as the 'Festival
City'. At the end of June, July and August Edmonton is host to
many festivals throughout the city: Street Performers, Jazz,
Food and Wine etc. Every evening and weekend there is something
to see.
Edmonton is an outdoors person's paradise, with the longest
paved pathway in North America. The pathway and parallel
mountain bike trails run beside the North Saskatchewan River,
with plenty of room for running, rollerblading and biking
in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter. Edmonton's
many lakes turn into ice rinks in the winter, and there
are several ski slopes within 20 minutes of downtown. World
famous ski fields are a short drive away.
When you are ready to explore the rest of Alberta, a
three hour drive will get you to Jasper National Park, where
you can see mountain goats, deer, moose, beaver, bear, waterfalls,
lakes, and of course the majestic beauty of the Canadian
Rockies. South of Jasper is Banff National Park, more animals,
lakes, and mountains.
Winter in Edmonton: While it is true that Edmonton can get
a bit 'nippy' in the winter, as long as you dress appropriately
you can take part in Edmonton's numerous outdoor activities!
Orion Health - Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)
Oxford, UK
Orion Health's operations for Europe, Middle East and Africa are
based out of our office in the historic town of Oxford.
Thanks in part to its famous University, Oxford has very
dynamic sporting, artistic and cultural scenes for a city
of its size (pop. 100,000). And with one of the highest
rates of bicycle ownership in the UK, Oxford is a paradise
for Orion Health's many fitness freaks! Our office is just
one hour by train from London, and enjoys excellent transport
connections to the rest of the UK and to Europe via Heathrow
airport.
Our Oxford team includes technical, clinical, sales and
marketing staff. Working for Orion Health EMEA requires
independence, initiative and openness to other cultures.
Most roles involve regular travel to work with our clients
and partners in the UK and Europe, (and occasionally further
afield!) and to attend industry events.

Auckland, New Zealand
(Global Headquarters and Development Center)
The Auckland Metropolitan Area, or Greater
Auckland, in the North Island of New Zealand, is the largest
urban area in New Zealand. Auckland's traditional Maori
name is Tamaki Makau Rau, which means isthmus of one thousand
lovers, or the transcribed version of Auckland, Akarana.
Auckland is by far the largest city in New Zealand, with
one third of the country's entire population.
Auckland is one of the few cities in the
world to have harbours on two separate bodies of water.
Greater Auckland lies between the Hauraki Gulf of the Pacific
Ocean to the east, the low Hunua Ranges to the south-east,
Manukau Harbour to the south-west, and the Waitakere Ranges
and smaller ranges to the west and north-west. The central
part of the urban area occupies a narrow isthmus between
Manukau harbour on the Tasman Sea and Waitemata Harbour
on the Pacific Ocean.
Aucklanders, or Jaffas as they are affectionately
known throughout the rest of New Zealand, enjoy Auckland's
mild climate, plentiful employment, excellent educational
opportunities, and numerous leisure facilities. For quality
of life, Auckland currently ranks 5th behind Zurich and
Geneva in a survey of the world's top 55 cities. Auckland
has a warm-temperate climate, with warm, humid summers and
cool, but damp and lengthy, winters.
Auckland is popularly known as the "City
of Sails" because the harbour is often dotted with
hundreds of yachts and has more per capita than any other
city in the world. Viaduct Basin hosted two America's Cup
challenges, and its cafes, restaurants, and clubs add to
Auckland's vibrant nightlife. Auckland has many neighborhoods
and villages with restaurants, bars, nightlife, arts and
culture, and shopping.
With beaches, bush, mountains and the harbours
within the city or a short drive away, Aucklanders have
access to a wide range of outdoor activities and enjoy the
balance between an urban and an outdoors lifestyle.

Sydney, NSW
Built around Port Jackson, which is often
considered one of the most beautiful harbours in the world. Sydney is known in Australia
as the "Harbour City" and the "City of Lights".
The harbours itself as well as structures on its shores
such as the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge
are globally recognized icons of the city. Sydney is a major
domestic and international tourist destination, notable
for its climate, famous beaches, culture, renowned landmarks
and modern architecture. It is Australia's main financial
centre, and the many skyscrapers of its financial district
cluster around Circular Quay, making the city's skyline
one of the most distinctive in the world.
Sydney significantly raised its global
profile in recent years as the host city of the 2000 Olympics.
It is a "Beta" global city exerting significant
regional, national, and international influence.
The Sydney Orion Health office is located
in the cosmopolitan village of Crows Nest on Sydney's vibrant
North Shore. Within two blocks of the office are 80 restaurants
and coffee shops with tempting meals from all parts of the
world. Importantly there is also a pub one block away.

Wellington, New Zealand
Orion Health's Wellington presence is located
in the heart of the central business district, close to
the waterfront. So close, in fact, that you can walk to
the sea in sixty seconds. Or, traffic permitting, run in
twenty. Cafes, shops, coffee merchants, and the occasional
urban park surround the office- creating a relaxing lunchtime
atmosphere.
Wellington has an excellent public transport
system. Most bus routes pass nearby the office, and the
train station and stadium are a mere 10-minute walk away.
Wellington is a teeming hub of software companies, and we
often visit other companies for a social lunchtime or Friday
drinks. The office itself is cosy, open plan, pleasantly
furnished, and most importantly, currently hiring.
With thanks to wikipedia
for many of the facts and statistics above.
