Orion Health a Finalist in 2012 NZ International Business Awards
Auckland, 16 January 2012 - Orion Health’s expanded global presence, and its potential significance as a major contributor to New Zealand’s economic growth, has gained it a finalist placing in the NZ International Business Awards.

Orion Health CEO Ian McCrae says the company’s current focus is on scaling up its international operations, yet remaining headquartered in NZ.

“Supporting New Zealand businesses who operate on a global scale are the key to this country’s economic success. We currently employ 300 staff in New Zealand, and globally over 500. We’re actively on the lookout for 200 new staff in the next 12 months” he says.

The NZIBA Awards celebrate companies demonstrating outstanding success in international business, as well as recognising professional excellence and innovative practice.

Orion Health CEO, Ian McCrae says that the company has always set out to be a global organisation. The past few years have seen this vision become a reality. “It’s the driving force behind everything we do, and it’s fantastic to have our success recognised and be in the running for this award”.

Orion Health has direct sales operations in most major developed economies with largest markets being the US, Canada, UK, Spain, Australia and New Zealand. As well as continuing to build on successes in these markets, Orion Health has now turned its attention to less developed markets such as Japan, China, the Middle East and Europe with their high growth potential.

Mr McCrae says establishing overseas offices to support the company’s global ambitions are critical, but his goal is to see Orion Health remain Kiwi-headquartered.
