Expanding into New Markets with Customer-Focused Solutions, Orion Health Sees Strong Growth
Orion Health Ltd announced a major milestone for the company and the adoption of its solutions around the world. Nearly 200,000 physicians in more than 500 hospitals are using the Orion Health Concerto® Portal to access critical health data stored in electronic health records (EHRs). The company has just reported over 50% growth in net profit before tax for the 2009 financial year.

Ian McCrae, Orion Health CEO notes the company is preparing for rapid growth as the US market is set to explode on the back of government funding from ARRA. Already, the company sees 90 percent of sales from revenues outside of New Zealand. With interoperability a top priority for health providers globally, Orion Health continues to grow as it pursues these opportunities via new channels and markets.
"Improved technical process based on OSGi, and the continued investment in co-developing solutions with clinicians has fueled development of several new products to better use existing infrastructure and streamline workflow for healthcare providers. Our commitment to innovation is shown by our strong investment in research and development - close to 20% of turnover per annum."

Orion Health Introduces Rhapsody Connect - A Revolutionary Public Health Reporting Solution
Improving healthcare through information technology (IT) has become a national priority and is increasingly important to healthcare and political leaders throughout the US.

Local, state and federal public health agencies are looking for ways to automate and improve the information available about their communities. Monitoring and improving the health of large populations requires complete, accurate, and timely reporting of healthcare data. However currently, processes are often manual, resulting in incomplete and delayed reporting.
Orion Health Rhapsody Connect represents a true breakthrough for public health.
Rhapsody Connect is the only innovative solution specifically designed for public health that automates reporting to provide fast, secure transmission of data between providers, public health agencies, HIEs, RHIOs, and other trading partners. Rhapsody Connect is an intelligent device that can be rapidly deployed at any data source holding information of public interest. Deployment can be achieved with little or no impact on the staff or systems at the data source site.

Orion Health Announces Concerto Clinical Documentation To Streamline Clinical Notes and Improve Consistency of Documentation
Earlier this year Orion Health showcased Concerto Clinical Documentation at the HIMSS 2009 conference, demonstrating how it helps healthcare workers efficiently and automatically capture clinical notes for a more complete electronic health record (EHR).
As hospitals and healthcare organizations are striving to reduce their dependency on paper-based systems and move to adopt EHRs, they are seeking new ways to ease the documentation process, streamline workflow and improve the accuracy of record keeping. Clinical Documentation provides healthcare workers with easy- to-use template-based tools that can be customized to include pre-populated patient data and quick check box features to speed information capture and improve accuracy.
Paul Viskovich, Orion Health President North America and Europe Middle East and Africa, says Clinical Documentation was designed to help hospitals cut down on redundant data entry, reduce errors in care from inaccurate data, meet stringent document requirements and improve communication within and across organizations.

Orion Health Concerto Whiteboard Helps Emergency Rooms and Wards Track Patient Status
In April 2009, Orion Health announced Concerto Whiteboard, a solution used at hospitals to improve the level of patient care and streamline workflow for more efficient management in emergency rooms and wards.

Concerto Whiteboard is a real-time patient tracking system to provide healthcare workers with a single view of patient information. By displaying an electronic health record (EHR) comprised of information pulled from multiple hospital systems, physicians and nurses can view patient status at a glance from any workstation. New Customers Across the Globe
Maine Launches Nations Largest Statewide Electronic Health Information Exchange
HealthInfoNet, Portland, Maine
Maine's nonprofit HealthInfoNet network will "go live" this summer, making Maine the largest statewide electronic health information exchange (HIE) using clinical data. The health provider organizations include 15 rural and urban hospitals and about 2,000 physicians. Many of Maine's other community hospitals have been involved in HealthInfoNet's planning process and are expected to become part of the statewide network following the demonstration phase.

On site the day of this announcement in Maine was the Obama Administration's top health information technology official, Dr. David Blumenthal, who was the keynote speaker at the statewide Hanley Leadership Forum in Portand and then visited Maine Medical Center's emergency department to see first hand how the new system will be used by medical care teams.
Under development for the past five years, HealthInfoNet will allow caregivers quick and efficient access to key clinical information they need to provide the best possible care for their patients. Health information technology is a major element of the nation's emerging health reform strategy. Electronic exchanges such as HealthInfoNet will be critical in connecting the rapidly growing number of providers using electronic medical records and other systems.

Integrated Access to Patient Information- Both Inside and Outside the Clinic
Lahey Clinic, Burlington, Massachusetts
Lahey Clinic, a 500 member physician-led multidisciplinary group practice with a 317-bed hospital in Burlington, Massachusetts, found that their clinical data was spread through many disparate systems, making it time consuming for physicians to review the patient record.

By choosing the Orion Health Concerto Portal, Lahey colleagues were provided with a solution that moves beyond simple Single Sign-On (SSO) password management capabilities to present a completely unified view of patient data that resides on disparate applications throughout the clinic's facilities.
"Using Concerto, physicians will be able to perform highly customizable searches to quickly locate the data they need to perform clinical assessments," said Nelson Gagnon, CIO, Information Services, Lahey Clinic. "Having the data they need in a single, unified view means the physician has a complete view of the patient's history and current status at their fingertips."
In addition, Lahey aspired to upgrade their connectivity with the referring physician population to make the sharing of patient information with the referral community virtually seamless. They needed a physician portal in which they could have a single view of patient information that included demographic data from practice management systems, appointment history, hospital admission history, and related providers.

IB-Salut Awards Fujitsu the Tender for Development of the Balearic Islands Electronic Health Record with Solutions from Oracle & Orion Health
IB-Salut, Balearic Islands, Spain
The Balearic region is an archipelago of four islands (Menorca, Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera) located in eastern Spain. With 10 million visitors to the region each year, tourism is a mainstay of the local economy.

Since 2002, the regional government has been responsible for providing healthcare services through the Ministry of Health and Consumer Protection of the Balearic Islands (IB-Salut). The public tender, worth 6.7 million Euros, was awarded to Fujitsu, Orion Health and Oracle with the intention to improve access to information for healthcare professionals by use of an integrated model of health information.
The primary aim of the project is to transform the area's existing model of dispersed health information, into an integrated Electronic Health Record (EHR). The main objectives for the project are, integration and communication between different healthcare levels, facilitating access to patient information irrespective of where it has been generated and to harness the development and implementation of telemedicine tools.
To improve patient care and safety, IB-Salut chose a portal-based electronic health record (EHR) solution to make medical records readily available and accessible to any health professional in any place that would care for them. IB-Salut selected the Concerto® Portal from Orion Health as its clinical portal based on the fact that its technology is highly configurable and easy to use.
